A lot of people love the entire college experience. Having said that, this experience is also one that lots of people fear. They don't know what they should expect and are not comfortable. Learning what you can about college can help.

Don't stay up too late right before you have an exam. This will be a problem, and you might not do well on your exam because of it. Your preparation is important and can directly impact the grades that you get.

It is important to get plenty of sleep. During your college years, it's tempting to stay up all night cramming for exams or partying, but rest is essential! You'll have bad behavior and forget many things, if you don't get enough sleep.

Bring all necessary test materials with you on test day. Make sure you have your calculator, some extra batteries and everything else you need for your exam. A lot of instructors do not have extra supplies, so you should not forget to bring what you need for the test.

You should take time to have fun if you are in college. No one would suggest that you should party every day and ignore your studies. You should visit the museum or go to see a show with some friends.

Talk to your teacher outside of class. You do not have to stay quiet if you are confused in class. The people in the office are there for a reason, so use all the resources provided to you.

If you need a job while in school, take advantage of your college's career office. Here you will find jobs available on campus and close by along with post graduation placement services.

Be sure to take a general education requirement every semester to work your way through them. Often students are faced with classes that are needed for graduation, yet do not want to take them. This makes it important to get it finished sooner than later. Also, you probably aren't going to enjoy being one of the only seniors in your class that contains mostly freshman if you procrastinate.

It can be a very smart strategy to attend a community college for the first two years of your college education. This is cheap and easier. You can then transfer all of your credits to a university of your choice. This is great if you find the expense of a degree to be too expensive for your budget.

Set realistic goals when you schedule you work and classes. If you are not a morning person, then scheduling a challenging class as your first class of the day is a recipe for disaster. Take your body's sleep needs into consideration as you schedule classes and plan for activities.

The life of a college student is not an easy one. While many think that young people in college are living a great life, there is a lot beneath the surface that others don't see. Use this advice to make things easier. Don't quit!
